George, Your confusion and distress are understandable - the last few weeks have been something short of the lists finest hour. I am sorry this had to be your 1st impression of us. I will be sad if it is your only impression of us. This list at its best is a powerful resource, even as it is now you will find useful exchanges being made. But I do agree - it takes a bit of "sifting" to find them. Only you can decide if it's worth the effort - but for what its worth my advice is give it a try - you will soon learn to separate the wheat from the chaff. It helps, as I have done, to have your list mail delivered to a separate folder. That way you don't have the additional problem of sorting list mail from private.
