Will, For all it's worth, the "exorbitantly high dosages" you are surprised with may have something to do with the combination of drugs used. You mention that the Mirapex was added to the Sinemet you have been taking for 8 years. Perhaps under these circumstances, a smaller dose does the trick. For myself, I am down to 50mg (half) Sinemet 100/25 a day (going for zero) and use 3.75mg of Mirapex. At this level I am much better than I was when I was taking 4x100/25 Sinemet. My neurologist told me that 1.0mg 3-times a day was the usual initial dosage for early PD patients and wants me off the Sinemet altogether. Gilles. -----Original Message----- From: Will A. She says it is 4.5mg. I am constantly surprised about what I see as exorbitantly high dosages. After experiments with all the other agonists, my neuro put me on Mirapex, besides the Sinemet I have been taking for 8 years. My initial dosage was 3 tablets a day. These are only one eigth of a mg each! This initial dose did not do anything for me. A month ago he doubled the dose and this made a big difference. It almost completely takes care of my tremor. This is still only 3/4 mg! With that powerful an effect I don't see how others can be on such high doses. After all what Sherry uses is 36 of the tablets that I use!
