CONGRATULATIONS! As Congress adjourns for this session, we wanted to take a moment to thank all of the participants in the Parkinson's Action Network Petition Campaign. Together, Network advocates collected nearly 25,000 signatures encouraging Congress to ensure at least $100 million for Parkinson's-focused research in FY2000. The petitions were collected and tallied throughout the summer and were delivered to key House and Senate Appropriations and Labor-HHS Appropriations Subcommittee members in September, during one of the most crucial moments of the appropriations process. Again, many thanks to everyone who participated in the campaign. Your voices really do make a difference, as you can see from the encouraging results of this Congressional session. The Network is working to create a new focus for the FY 2001 advocacy campaign and would greatly appreciate your support in this initiative.
