Gene Patient's Death Remains Mystery

(December 2) Ten weeks after an 18-year-old
Arizona man died in a gene therapy experiment,
scientists have determined that the treatment
he received triggered "an unusual and deadly
immune system response that led to multiple
organ failure" and was directly responsible for
his death.
