I have no idea - but I'd bet whatever you use will be able to be
transferred to whatever we are all using in the future.
I have hours of 8mm Cine film of my family dating back to the 50's. A
few years ago I had them transferred to Video cassette and can now view them
once more. I would be surprised if a similar service doesn't exist to convert
today's VHS video to tomorrow's whatever.
