Hi Nancy,

You have it right.  It can occur with neuroleptic malignant syndrome- (see
archives) although I can't figure out why someone taking  Comtan should get
rhabdomyolysis since it occurs primarily in patients taking neuroleptics and
sometimes in people who are rapidly withdrawn from Parkinson's meds,  I
guess it is possible that if Sinemet doses are not reduced then patients
might get peak dose dystonia which might cause the rhabdomyolysis- or from
another mechanism which I am unaware of.  The rhabdomyolysis can cause
injury to the kidneys.
