Hi everyone,
Over the period of 1-2 years I damaged 5 teeth (2 chipped, 2 fractures, & 1 front tooth half broken off).  I began orthodontic treatment with braces, for the second time in my life, 4+ years before my dx with PD. When I was finished, the orthodontist made two bite plate retainers for me to wear at night to stop the grinding. After I started medication for PD, much of the mouth open-close-bite,& grinding problem has ceased.

HI Bill,
Be careful with that extraction because it can allow shifting of teeth, worsening occlusion and cause more grinding and potential breaks; adjacent teeth can, over time, lay down on their sides, exposing the roots (very painful). Please consider a space-holder if that fits within your budget.

<<My father, dx about 4 years, has been breaking his teeth.  He is 79 and has been on sinemet for 3 years and mirpex for over 1 year.  having 4 teeth break in the span of a month just seemed a little suspicious>>

Bill Olson: I am 69,. dx when I was 53,
<<...I sometimes grind my teeth when sleeping, and recently cracked a molar right down the middle. This tooth was already weakened..the cost of replacing it...I opted for an extraction>>.
