New Resource Available for Parkinson’s Disease Patients


Portland, OR, December 6, 1999 — The Willamette-Columbia Parkinsonian

Society (AKA Will-Cope) announces the release of its new publication,

The Language of Parkinson’s Disease.  This 16-page publication is

designed to acquaint the person diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease with

the specific terminology of the disorder.  The easy-to-understand

booklet is available at no charge.  To obtain a copy contact Will-Cope

After the initial trauma of diagnosis with Parkinson’s Disease, the

patient’s need is for information.  The Language of Parkinson’s Disease

is designed to help fulfill that need.  With sections on Neurology,

Symptoms, Medication, and Surgical procedures, the publication can serve

as a tool in communications with medical professionals and in

understanding the physiological changes associated with Parkinson’s

Disease.


The Willamette-Columbia Parkinsonian Society (Will-Cope) is a non-profit

501(c)(3) support and resource organization serving people with

Parkinson’s Disease throughout Oregon and southern Washington.  Since

1980, Will-Cope has helped thousands of families with its network of

services, including support groups, newsletters, a lending library, and

educational programs.
